Update Log: PubTrawlr Improvements

We just pushed some improvements out on the free tier of PubTrawlr. While many of them are cosmetic, there are three main ones to call out.

Journal Weighting. We now generate a table that presents articles from the top 25% of their field. We combined a few metrics to determine this, but it boils down to a function of how often articles within a journal are cited by other researchers. Like the other tables, this can be exported in the format of your choice.

Review Articles. We also generate a table with any review articles. Systematic reviews have been growing in prominence over the past few years. Oftentimes, these are a really good place to dig in if you are hoping to get a deeper sense of a field. Also exportable.

Word Clouds. I confess; I’m not a word cloud fan, but I have heard from multiple people that they are helpful. So, we present a word cloud along side the previous bar graph.

Are you happy now?

Also, don’t forget about Safe Harbor, our forum for registered users. It’s really important be able to dialogue around findings, and Safe Harbor is a place to ask and discuss relevant questions.

We welcome your feedback and comments, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
